Urbaniseringsgrad (DEGURBA) - Eurostat, v1:2012

Urbaniseringsgrad (DEGURBA) er en klassifikation som inddeler administrative områder (kommuner) efter befolkningstæthed. Klassifikationen følger Eurostat's Degree of Urbanisation (DEGURBA) og inddeles i de tre følgende typer af områder: 

Cities (densely populated areas): 
- At least 50% of the population lives in urban centres. 

Towns and suburbs (intermediate density areas): 
- At least 50% of the population lives in urban clusters and 

- Less than 50% of the population lives in urban centres. 

Rural areas (thinly populated areas): 
- At least 50% of the population lives in rural grid cells.
