The accounts comprise the forest land as well as the wood (timber) resource. The forest accounts were first published in 2017, as part of the Green National Accounts for Denmark. In 2021, the accounts have been extended back in time so all data series start in 1990., Statistical presentation, The forest accounts are an annual account of the Danish forest area and the growing stock in the forests. The accounts contain opening and closing stocks as well as balancing items broken down by region. Concerning the growing stock, the accounts are in physical units (cubic meters) as well as monetary units (DKK) and are published with a division into broadleaves and conifers, whereas the forest area is accounted only in physical units (square km). The accounts are published in the StatBank as well as in general publications from the Green National Accounts for Denmark., Read more about statistical presentation, Statistical processing, The forest accounts are produced separately for forest area and for growing stock. The accounts for the forest area are obtained almost directly from the Danish reporting on land cover under the Kyoto Protocol and from the calculation of the area of undisturbed forest provided by the Agency for Green Transition and Aquatic Environment. For the physical growing stock accounts, several sources are matched and harmonized in order to compile complete and consistent accounts. From the physical growing stock accounts, the monetary accounts (in DKK) are calculated through a valuation model based on estimated prices., Read more about statistical processing, Relevance, The forest accounts are of relevance for administrative bodies, researchers, NGOs, businesses, the educational sector and individuals - all with interests in forest, natural resources, interactions between environment and economy, natural capital, sustainability etc. In the context of the United Nations and other international organizations, there is a large focus on green national accounts., Read more about relevance, Accuracy and reliability, The forest accounts are reliable estimates of the physical size of the resources, as well as the change in these over a number of years. Smaller variations from one year to the next may however reflect uncertainties rather than real changes. Especially for the monetary valuation of the growing stock (in DKK) there is significant uncertainty, both concerning the estimated prices as well as inherent in the method used which is based on a number of assumptions. The estimate for the value of the growing stock should therefore be considered a provisional estimate of the order of magnitude., Read more about accuracy and reliability, Timeliness and punctuality, The forest accounts are normally published 21 months after the reference period ends. Apart from minor adjustments of the target date, the accounts have always been published as planned., Read more about timeliness and punctuality, Comparability, The forest accounts are compiled according to the guidelines for asset accounts for natural resources from the UN statistical standard 'System of Environmental-Economic Accounting'. This ensures a high degree of comparability with the same type of accounts from other countries using this standard. The statistics is used in economic models and as a basis for yearly economic statistical reports for the fishery to EU (DG Mare). The statistics has been produced by Department of Food and Resource Economics at University of Copenhagen since 1996 and was transferred to Statistics Denmark from January 2009., Statistical presentation, The Account Statistics for Fishery covers the commercially fishery by fishing vessels registered in Denmark. The statistics is based on vessel units and is calculated for groups of fishing vessels (fleet segments) based on vessel size and main gear use., Read more about statistical presentation, Statistical processing, The authorized accountants report yearly the account for their fishery client. The collected accounts are thoroughly tested. When all accounts has been approved for statistical use, the sample of approved accounts are used together with register data for the entire population to simulate individual accounts for all units not in the sample. The complete dataset with individual balanced accounts for all units in the population is merged with register data on vessel characteristics, gear use etc. in order to calculate parameters for statistical groups (vessel segments)., Read more about statistical processing, Relevance, The statistics is relevant for government administration, researchers and stakeholders within the fisheries. Furthermore the data is used in the Fleet Economic Report to EU. , Read more about relevance, Accuracy and reliability, The statistic is based on a sample and the results are uncertain. The precision rely on the covering of the sample. Therefore the sample rate is bigger for vessels with high revenue. The aim is each year to include the 100 biggest vessels in the sample, and that approximately 80 per cent of the total value of landings in Danish fishery come from the vessels in the sample. Investments have the most uncertainty, because exchange of a vessel could result in closure of the fishing firm, and set up a new firm to run the new vessel., Read more about accuracy and reliability, Timeliness and punctuality, The statistics is normally made public before one year after the conclusion of the refence year., Read more about timeliness and punctuality, Comparability, The Account Statistics for Fishery is prepared using the same overall principles as the account statistics for agriculture, horticulture and aquaculture. The statistics has been prepared yearly since 1996. Break in series occurs in 2022 due to changes in methods for calculation population cutoff, as well as a new and improved basis for classifying which fishing types the vessels are grouped into. Break in series also occurs in 2001 due to inclusion of unpaid salary to active (working) partners, and in 2009 and again 2012 due to improved calculation of the capital value of fishing rights., Read more about comparability, Accessibility and clarity, The statistics is published yearly in NYT from Statistics Denmark. The waste accounts are published annually and disseminated through a press release and tables in the StatBank., Municipal waste by municipality, treatment form and waste type is compiled for the first time in 2023., Read more about statistical presentation, Statistical processing, Waste data are validated in the Danish Environmental Protection Agency before Statistics Denmark receives them. The data processing in Statistics Denmark primarily concerns the detailed and complete distribution of the waste to the 117 industry groups of the Green National Accounts., Read more about statistical processing, Relevance, Waste accounts are of relevance for administrative bodies, researchers, NGOs, businesses, the educational sector and individuals - all with interests in waste, resources, economic-environmental interactions, the circular economy etc. To ensure international comparability, the waste accounts are prepared according to the UN statistical standard SEEA (System of Environmental Economic Accounting) 2012., Read more about relevance, Accuracy and reliability, The quality is good concerning the figures for total amounts of waste as well as the amounts for different forms of treatment. However, the distribution by waste fractions become more uncertain at more detailed levels, due to measurement errors (in the reporting)., The detailed distribution according to industry groups is subject to uncertainty, both in the source (ADS) and in the assumptions made in the distribution of waste to detailed industry groups. , Waste by individual municipalities is less precise than totals for the municipality groups due to waste from one municipality being treated at a facility in a different municipality, or waste stations being used by inhabitants of several different municipalities etc., Read more about accuracy and reliability, Timeliness and punctuality, The statistics are published 21 months after the end of the reference period. The long production time is due to the dependency on data from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency. The statistics are normally released on schedule without delay., Read more about timeliness and punctuality, Comparability, The methods and data sources for the Waste Accounts are unchanged throughout the period covered by published figures. International comparison is possible with all other waste accounts based on UN's statistical standard SEEA 2012., Read more about comparability, Accessibility and clarity, These statistics are published yearly in a Danish press release and in the StatBank under , Waste Accounts, ., Read more about accessibility and clarity
