Definition

Denmark acceded to the Nagoya Protocol in 2014. The Protocol ensures the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the utilization of genetic resources, as well as access to such resources in a legal and transparent manner. Denmark has implemented the agreement through the EU ABS Regulation, which sets out rules for how users must document lawful access and the sharing of benefits.
