Indicators

8.7.1: Child labour

Proportion and number of children aged 5-17 years engaged in child labour, by sex and age

Definition

Child labour includes both paid work and household work. Statistics Denmark does not have data on household work.
Out of the total number of 5–17-year-olds in Denmark (838,370) at the end of November 2024, 1,406 (0.2 per cent) had paid work with a number of working hours as specified in the indicator definition. Of these, 351 were in the 5–11 age group, where a large share had jobs within cultural occupations (singing, dancing, acting, or work as extras). Source: Statistics Denmark
