Whether or not legal frameworks are in place to promote, enforce and monitor equality and non-discrimination on the basis of sex

Definition

Denmark does not produce continuous and official statistics in accordance with the methodology underlying the indicator. However, the UN provides an assessment of the legal frameworks in Denmark to promote, enforce, and monitor gender equality and non-discrimination on the basis of sex. The UN considers four sub-areas within the legal framework for gender equality:

  1. The overall legal framework
  2. Violence against women
  3. Employment and economic rights
  4. Marriage and family

The UN assesses that Denmark scores 80 out of 100 regarding the overall legal framework, 100 out of 100 regarding violence against women, 90 out of 100 regarding employment and economic rights, and 91 out of 100 regarding marriage and family (2024).
