Definition

The indicator shows the development in food prices in a given period in relation to the historical price development. If the food price indicator is between -0.5 and 0.5, the food price trend in the year in question is normal. If the indicator lies between 0.5 and 1, the food price trend is moderately high and an indicator above 1 means that the food price trend is abnormally high.

The indicator is calculated by Statistics Denmark by using UN's calculation method and price information from the statistics bank table LPRIS10.
