Sales of alcohol and tobacco
The alcohol statistics illustrate the sale of beer, wine and liquor. The tobacco statistics provide information about the sale of cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, and smoking tobacco.
The sale is based on the Danish domestic taxed sale. The sale that is taxable is the sale of alcohol and tobacco to the retail trade.
The alcohol statistics is given in 1.000 liters of the product and in 1.000 liters of pure alcohol. Cigarettes, cigars and cigarillos are counted in millions (by pieces). While smoking tobacco is measured in tons.
Statistics Denmark has alcohol statistics from 1921 and tobacco statistics from 1923.
