Benefit to disability car

The purpose of these statistics is to provide information on cases on subsidies for disability cars as prescribed by section 114 of the Danish Social Services Act. These statistics were initiated in the Danish Social Appeals Board back in 1998. Until 1 July 2016, these statistics were managed by the Appeals Board, after which they were transferred to Statistics Denmark.

Statistical presentation

The statistics are an annual statement of the total amount of cases, among these are number of refusals, average time of casework counted in weeks as well as the total amount of money granted towards subsidies to disability cars prescribes by section 114 of the Danish Social Services Act. The statistics are distributed by municipalities.

Statistical processing

Consistent data is received from the municipalities. Data is validated, checked for logical errors, and compared to the previous year. Data is then compiled into one data set.

Relevance

The statistics state the decisions in the municipalities and are used by e.g. ministries, municipalities and journalists.

Accuracy and reliability

Submitting data is required by law and after validation, data is reliable to the extent that Statistics Denmark has received all decisions. Corrections for earlier statistical years may be made subsequently.

Timeliness and punctuality

The statistics will be published approximately nine months after the expiry of the reference period.

Comparability

Data has been collected since the year 2000. Following the Danish municipality reform in 2007, the jurisdiction was transferred from the old counties to the municipalities. From 2010 onwards, the municipalities also had to report the size of the benefits.
