Producer prices for services

Page content:

What is your data used for?

Here, producers report prices for services in the first stage of distribution – that is, sales prices to other companies, excluding VAT. Your report is necessary to illustrate price developments for goods and to calculate the price index. The statistics are used in the national accounts as a business cycle indicator and for contract adjustments in the business sector.

Frequently asked questions

Who is required to report – and why?

Reporting is mandatory by law

EU legislation requires Denmark to produce several business-related statistics.

The Act on Statistics Denmark, section 8-12a obliges companies to report information for statistical purposes.

The number of companies required to report

Statistics Denmark requests approximately 400 companies to provide mandatory quarterly reports for this statistic each year.

How are companies selected?

The sample covers selected industry groups as defined by an EU regulation. Within each industry, the largest companies (based on turnover) are selected to ensure broad coverage. These companies report prices for their best-selling services, which are considered representative of the industry. Since the industries differ, a separate sample is created for each one.
